Cutloose Bank Holiday Jam
SEAN P
[Claremont 56 | Tirk]
Saturday 4th May 2013
The Roadhouse, Manchester
11pm – Late
Another bank holiday, another special jam lined up for you all! Back to the basement at the Roadhouse, we welcome Sean P to the party. Dance music aficionado, Sean has been a face on the London music scene since the ’80s, taking the counters of some of the city’s leading record shops. He is famous for his encyclopeadic knowledge of soul, funk, disco, boogie, rare groove, jazz-funk and jazz. The Idjut Boys call him ‘The Knowledge’ and many others think of him as ‘the black music oracle’ – virtues any party goer will appreciate!
Sean is highly respected for his re-edits of rare dance floor monsters and disco gems on the likes of Tirk and has compiled a number of instrumental compilations that have proved influential on respected labels such as BBE and Strut. His compilation for the excellent Claremont 56 Originals’ series proved hugely popular. In addition, Sean is in the field of audio restoration, utilising the Cedar Audio system to ‘clean up’ source material for a list of prestigious clients – including responsibility for the mastering of the Originals’ series on Claremont 56 and several releases on Ambassadors Reception.
Sean is and highly under rated DJ and humble about his achievements – more often found lurking in the backroom… But put him up-front in the booth and you will hear his rich musical heritage come alive. Expect eclectic music and heavy vibes – bring a positive attitude and an open mind!
