Heads up for the next instalment of our clandestine late night jams, taking place on Saturday 19 May from 10.30pm onwards, with very special guest, the highly esteemed Mark Seven. You know the score – invite only, secret city centre location, limited capacity.

We’re keeping it fresh, emerging from the African wilderness to take you to a different secret location. Again, there will be a specially installed, all powerful sound system for optimum auditory pleasure. Salute to those who came to the last secret shindig with Brennan Green – a superb party with a packed to the rafters dance floor, all night long.

Venue will be revealed to ticket holders near to the day of the party. Remember, these parties have a strictly limited capacity – word to the wise: previous Mark Seven parties in larger venues have been very popular.

We are delighted to welcome a true pioneer of the dance scene, Daniele Baldelli to our April social. The term legendary is too often casually bounded about, but this is certainly an apt description of Daniele. A founding father of the Cosmic Disco sound, he rose to prominence with his mixture of disco, funk, and European electronica, (often played at slower speeds), equalizer effects, and ethnic folk music. Baldelli’s use of African and Brazilian material helped distinguish his style from Italo disco, which permeated the clubs of Northern Italy during the 1970s. After logging several years at renowned clubs, he developed his style at the notorious Cosmic, a venue by Lake Garda during the late ’70s and early ’80s. At the Cosmic, Baldelli’s signature sound emerged – that worldly, hypnotic tempo, influenced by the infamous club’s drug culture (mainly heroin, which caused its users to dance slowly). Drug problems forced many clubs to close during the 1980s, but Baldelli’s influence has persevered into the 21st century, gaining international cult status.

Join us for a night of inspirational music, enhanced by Baldelli’s enviable selection and technically gifted style, this is sure to be another special Cutloose!

Cutloose are back in action with DJ Nature flying in from NYC to start the year in fine fashion.  A musical background that has unfolded over three decades like a rich tapestry, DJ Nature (aka Miles Mackenzie) was a founding member of Bristol’s infamous 80’s ‘Wild Bunch’ sound system, the same crew that spawned Massive Attack. He later migrated to NYC and took frequent trips to the underground house and disco clubs to hear legendary DJs such as Larry Levan and Tony Humphries. His love for that raw early house sound inspired his early releases under his ‘Natureboy’ moniker for Black Label NYC and Tomato Records UK.

With this heritage and his extensive disco, soul, funk and hip hop collection, it is no surprise Miles has an acute understanding of the underground sound that gives life to the dance floor.  His recent releases, on cult NYC label, Golf Channel are collector’s items, but more importantly classic tracks, such as Destiny Reprise, have formed staple ingredients for a throbbing night.  His remix work for respected Japanese label, Jazzy Sport, has been well received with releases such as the Suntoucher remixes vol 1 & 2 getting regular plays from respected jocks.


With a limited white label album to be released in the next couple of weeks, this is not a party to be missed – Roll up for the first party of 2012 - expect the best in soul, boogie and house with a Zanzibar vibe throughout!

Following that in March we have Chinatown head honcho Brennan Green for the first in our series of invite only parties and then cosmic wizard and italo legend Daniele Baldelli joining us in April – more details and ticket links to follow!

Due to his many monikers people often believe they’re not familiar with his sound yet upon closer inspection, most discerning DJs will realise they’ve got at least one of his tracks in their box. His first label – Ugly Music – released tracks from artists such as K-Alexi and DJ Harvey. Felix has produced records under a string of aliases including L.H.A.S Inc., Foolish and Sly, Das Etwas, The Mythical Beasts and Dedication whilst also performing mixing duties for Horse Meat Disco. His recent releases on L.H.A.S Inc. come recommended, and his Originals compilation for Claremont 56 deserves a special mention. As well as playing across the globe, Foolish Felix is a top boy and he now brings it to Manchester for our December party.
