Whitest Boy Alive – Rules (2009)
This celebral mix of muscians come back with their second album and boy it’s a beauty. There is certianly less of an indie feel to the music with a welcome injection of boogie with an essence of house whilst keeping the melchanoic vibe that entraced people with their first release.
Louis – Pink Footpath (1985)
Unfortunately not much of a secret now our Scandinavan expat Mark Seven decided to end with it in his recent Orginals Compliation on Claremont 56. Nevertheless this italo balearic number is a gem and certanly pitched down a great way to end proceedings on a high.
Number One Ensemble – Back To Heaven (1979)
I-F apparently named this his favourite disco track of all time, catchy chorus great bassline these Italians know about their disco, this is getting plenty of airtime at the moment!
Rosko – Peacemaker (1973)
I opened with this funk bomb at our last party, I heard it way back when on a Steve Mason mix and it hit all the right pressure points, one of the funkiest most awesome records around for me!
Taliban Discotheque – Rubber Room (2009)
Thought I better go for something in the present and this baby holds its own, Osma Bin Laden behind the decks in the Afghan Mountains, nice work if you can get it. Strong bassline, great percussion, crazy ass chorus, I quite like it!
